Luzie Dömel is a medical student at Charité University Berlin and has joined the MITT Lab in May 2020. As participant of the “Rising Star” Exchange Program for doctoral candidates between the Charité and Yale University School of Medicine, Luzie was an active member of the Yale Interventional Oncology Research Lab. Her research work primarily focused on image-based, quantitative tumor response assessment in liver cancer patients receiving systemic therapy. Furthermore, she investigated the characteristics of the immunological tumor microenvironment after transarterial chemotherapy using the translational rabbit VX2 liver cancer model. Due to her participation in several diverse projects, she gained methodical experience in multimodal image analysis, conventional cell culture work, imaging mass cytometry, and statistics with SPSS and Prism.
